And a new story beings...

So Jen and I found out about a month or so ago that yes we are indeed having a baby! I was both surprised, shocked, elated and worried all at the same time. There have been few times in my life when a phone call has ever meant so much to me. The other time was when I was in Sacramento 3 years ago and my mother called me to tell me my father passed away. This time however I was on my way to Judo and Jen had called to tell me to come home because she had taken a pregnancy test on a whim. It had come back positive and I almost ran off the road. When I had gotten home she came downstairs and instantly we went out to get more tests. The whole time was surreal. Everywhere we looked babies or pregnant women. When we returned home Jen couldn't pee. I fed her water as she sat on the toilet, nervously handing her glass after glass of water as I drank the champagne she had bought to relax with at home and out of worry had led her to take a pregnancy test.

She couldn't pee... so we regrouped. In the mean time our friend had called to come up to the apartment with dessert. A welcome but albeit hilarious distraction. He came up and we sat as we ate dessert and I drank pagne and she drank water... Then she had to pee... feigning calm I waited while still talking to our friend.... after a few minutes I asked if she was ok and went to the bathroom to check on her... when I opened the door there she held the truth in 3 little blue plus signs all screaming "YOUR LIFE HAD NOW CHANGED FOREVER!"

And thus the whole process began... the process of freaking out, of laughing, of more freaking out, of calling parents, family, friends, more freaking out, etc.

So from now on I will document not only my life, my math, etc. but the process of becoming a parent... all of the ups, the downs, the crazies and the nerousis that comes along with it... And so the new story begins...

We are currently at 9 weeks and some odd days..thus putting our due date at March 1st, a few days shy of my fathers birthday....Ironic, in an amazing way! I cannot wait to make that phone call!
