While I was in the office today I noticed that all the blond privileged "youngish" women sit together at lunch. That the majority of the people that got laid off this past cycle were all of color or gay. That our senior leadership team is all older white women. That the only person from our development team that had her hours cut is a lesbian women, who was on maternity leave with a brand new AA child with developmental issues that she and her partner had just adopted and she has a fucking PhD and YEARS of experience doing this work and brings in a lot more money than anyone else in the Org!
There have been plenty of opportunities for this organization to step up and show the girls that we serve that they CAN actually be whatever they want to be, including a senior member of our staff or E.D.! That being different WONT get you fired or your time cut in half when the shit hits the fan.
